Eco highlights: Absorbs the first 2" of
rainfall within the first 2 hours (assuming the green roof is dry to begin with); Detains storm water runoff (even after saturated) which helps mitigate combined sewer overflow which pollutes lakes, rivers and streams; Helps mitigate the urban heat island effect; Provides habitat for insects and birds.

When this client moved into their new home, the landscape they saw through their large back windows didn't exactly meet their standards. They came to us with a desire to create continuity between their small garden and detached garage, and provide a visual buffer to the rear alley. Together, we formulated a plan to install a green roof on the garage to offer both an aesthetic and environmental upgrade. The system we installed supported a wide variety of plants, including several native and butterfly-friendly varieties.
